The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city.
Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts.
I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time.
Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was. You see, that unexpected invitation I received? Well, it hadn’t actually been addressed to me—it was sent to my ex-roommate who’d bounced a check for two months’ rent and moved out in the middle of the night. I figured she owed me an expensive night out, but I guess, technically, I was crashing the wedding.
Once caught, I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. As I bolted for the door, I might’ve plucked a few bottles of expensive champagne off the tables I passed, all while the gorgeous, angry groomsman was hot on my tail.
Outside, I jumped into a taxi. My heart ricocheted against my ribs as we drove down the block—but at least I’d escaped unscathed.
Or so I thought.
Until I realized I’d left my cell phone behind at the table.
Take one guess who found it?
This is the crazy story of how Hudson Rothschild and I met. But trust me, it’s only the tip of the iceberg.
I don’t think there’s any book From Vi Keeland that I’ve read and haven’t loved. I love her as an author and I love her books so much. She has a way of adding depth to her plot. This book is just as good as the others from the riveting plot, to the romance and the steamy scenes. The invitation is just all round goodness.
I was certainly enthralled from the very first chapter till the end. Yes it’s a slow burn, yes the steamy scenes don’t come until later but let me tell you, it’s worth the wait. I really like slow burn romance because I feel our attention is on the couple’s story, the building of their relationship and the plot as a whole. I like that I got to see their relationship and their feelings for each other grow before they jumped into bed together l.
Stella and Hudson’s relationship is one I would want to have in the future. It’s so mature and I certainly enjoyed them together. I didn’t for once get bored which is kinda common in some slow burn romances.
Let me talk about Stella, I just loved her. She’s so sweet, hardworking, quirky and really unique. She’s really different from other heroines I’ve read. I loved her career which is just as unique as she is ( she’s a perfumer by the way) . It’s certainly not a common career in the world of romance novels. This chocolate giving heroine put a smile on my face throughout this read.
As for Hudson, I wish I can get a man just like him. Sure he made me furious with the stunt he pulled at the start of the book ( he was a bit of an arsehole) but I just could t help but fall in love with him. He is smart, sexy, witty and just a good guy. It’s so heartwarming to read a book where you love both MC’s almost on the level.
I loved Charlie, Hudson’s daughter with his ex. She was such a cutie. She was certainly well written by Vi Keeland because some authors tend to make little children make conversations that are too matured for their age. It tends to make the book less realistic. I don’t think there’s anything I didn’t like about this Vi keeland’s Work of art. What is there not to Like? 🤷🏾♀️ I dunno because I loved it all. Their meeting was my favourite part of the book. Imagine crashing a wedding and the guy you danced with and lied to about knowing the bride happened to be the bride’s brother, it was so funny and I couldn’t stop laughing. I don’t want to ruin it for you as I don’t give spoilers so I’m going to end it there. All you need to know is that this book is amazing, so you should grab a copy as fast as you can.
This book is just another evidence that Vi Keeland is a beautiful prolific writer. I love reading her books and I can’t wait for what she has in store for us. All I can say is keep giving us more amazing read Vi! I’ll keep buying anything you release.
