Contemporary Romance of Christmases Past Leave a comment

For the past several years I have spent all of December reading nothing but Christmas stories. Here it is already halfway through December and with the exception of the ones my critique partners wrote, I’ve read nothing! Between my husband’s health issues and a kitchen remodel there has been no time.

I looked back over my favorites for the last several years and thought I’d share the contemporary ones from my list. After all, there’s no exploration date on a good story!

I mentioned my critique partners’ work. They were in several Christmas collections this year but here are my favorites from each of them. —All the Moore by Toni Shiloh, part of the Something Borrowed collection, had me tearing up at one point and I loved the hero from that book. This and Every Christmas, part of the Hearts Aglow collection was my favorite this year from Jaycee Weaver. I thought it was a fresh and unique approach at combining past and present.

And since we are talking about my critique partners, two of their stories from past years also made my list —Deck the Shelves by Toni and Love, Laughter, and Luminarias by Jaycee.

Two other InspyRomance authors made my list too. Be sure to check out A Husband for Holly by Marion Ueckerman and Christmas in Abundance by Sally Bayless.

Some well-known authors make up the rest of my list. Maybe you’ve read them. They are One Enchanted Eve by Melissa Tagg, The Wedding Dress Christmas by Rachel Hauck, The Best Gift of All by Julie Lessman, and Catching Christmas by Terri Blackstock.

Help fill in my To Be Read list. What is your favorite Christmas tale?

**FYI- One of my own Christmas stories—Mistletoe Kiss— is currently FREE!
