Can the magic of Christmas overcome all?
Christmas is Sarah Walker’s favourite holiday, and a white Christmas has been on her bucket list for years. When her world comes crashing down around her just months before the holidays, she figures what better time than the present. Heading for her brother’s ranch in Colorado to lick her wounds and mend her broken heart, romance was the last thing she was looking for.
Jesse Colter has a soft spot for the ladies. He loves them in all shapes and sizes. The one thing his time in the marines taught him, though, was never to leave his heart vulnerable. There’s no telling when a loved one can be taken away. That philosophy is tested to its limits when Sarah crashes into his life with the force of a falling meteor.
Will Sarah’s heartbreak and Jesse’s fear of loss prevent them from finding the love they both deserve? Or will the magic of the holiday season bring about a Christmas miracle?

A Cowboy for Christmas was a short and steamy Christmas romance. Reading it one sitting proved an effortless task.

Sarah, an executive assistant for an accounting firm as recently, had her world ripped apart. She discovered in the most humiliating manner that she had been dating a married man. Then, to add insult to injury, he fired her.
To get over the sting of the humiliation, she went to spend the Christmas holidays with her brother in Colorado. While there she met Jesse, a former navy seal turned Cowboy.

This story provided a nice and short escape from reality. Seeing as this was a novella, I had to suspend belief regarding the pace at which the romance developed. Especially seeing that she recently came out of a toxic relationship. That being said Jesse and Sarah had chemistry in spades.

The characters were sufficiently developed, which allowed me to relate to them as individuals.

The story had some light-hearted and dramatic moments which spiced things up. I wished the story had been longer as I believe there were events which, if allowed for further development, would have made for an even more exciting read. Nevertheless, the author did a good job of keeping the reader entertained.

Conclusion/Recommendation

Overall, I had fun with this book and would read more from this author.

When coming home means finding love again…
Nothing says Merry Christmas like impending divorce. *eye roll*It would be great to ignore the season altogether until Ethan and I officially end things on December 31st.But before we can sign the final papers, I need to make it through Christmas week back in my hometown in Grandma’s house with the man I thought I’d spend the rest of my life with. It’s far from ideal.Yet, the longer we’re forced to cohabitate, the harder it is to ignore that what drew us together as childhood sweethearts still exists. Our marriage is on the brink of divorce because we thought we wanted different things, but maybe our Christmas miracle is getting a second chance by finally coming home.

Home for Christmas by Mika Jolie is a sweet, heart-warming, second chance romance. It tells the story of Ethan and Holly, a married couple on the brink of divorce. Childhood sweethearts, married for four years. They loved each other but couldn’t make their marriage work. Their solution, divorce which would come into effect at the end of the festive season. However, Holly’s grandmother stipulation in her will derailed their plans. Holly and Ethan had to spend the Christmas week together in her grandmother’s house. Will they survive the week and work through their issues, or will they go through the divorce?

This story reflects issues married couples face. It shows that for a marriage to work, both parties need to put in the effort to keep the spark burning.

Ethan and Holly’s story moved me on so many levels. Nostalgic and brimming with emotions. I related to their struggles and silently cheered them with the hopce they would work their way back to each other.

I enjoyed the atmosphere, which had me wishing for my own Christmas miracle.

Conclusion/Recommendation

Home for Christmas is the perfect holiday read for fans of Christmas romance. Short, sweet, heart-warming and full of holiday cheer.
