Title: Mercenary

Author:Bella Di Corte

Genre: Mafia Romance

Series: Gangsters Of Newyork Book 3

I had something to live for.

The moment I saw him, I knew.

His eyes would hypnotize.
His lips would speak the most beautiful promises.
His body? Made for pleasure.

But if Corrado Capitani thought that he could fool me into thinking he was a good man, he was wrong.

The moment I saw him, I knew the truth.

Those eyes hid his poisonous heart.
Those lips were vessels of deception.
That body? Made for inflicting pain.

He wasn’t sent from heaven. He was sent to drag me back to hell.

I had something to die for.

Alcina Parisi had a price on her head, and she’d eluded the best. She thought no one would ever find her, but I did. Everyone in our world called me Scorpio—the man who never let the enemy go. But she was a weapon, not an adversary, and I’d claimed her as mine

My Review

Ciao Everyone, it means hello in Sicilian. Mercenary is actually the first book I’ve read in more than a week and it’s the first book I’m reviewing in weeks. I’ve been feeling under the weather for some time now. This is the hardest review I’ve had to write because i’m dealing with a monster headache but it’s something that I just have to do.

Let’s get into the book and my thoughts on it. First of all I loved it!! Secondly I Absolutely loved it!!. Seriously what’s not to love in this book. I don’t think I have one criticism to give but if I think of one ( which I never will) I’ll be sure to let you guys know.

I read the first book in the series too, it’s titled Machiavellian and it was a really good book. I certainly fell in love with Bella di Corte after reading it. You guys should definitely read it if you haven’t already. I haven’t read the second book yet, I kinda skipped it and I’m so ashamed 🙈.I’m certainly going to go back for it though without a doubt.

So going into this book I had a lot of high hopes because the first book blew my mind away so I expected something better from the third and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Corrido and Alcina are the best MC’s any reader can ask for. I really loved their story, I normally hate love at first sight stories but this one completely worked. They fell fast but it didn’t feel like they fell too fast. That’s what a good writer can do and Bella Di Corte certainly is one.

Alcina is just spunk personified. She gave as good as she got. She certainly was a good match for corrado. Only a strong woman can put up with that man. There were sometimes in the book I wanted to knock him out or stab him, just like Alcina wanted to ( that part was really funny). That man was stubborn as hell but I still loved him. Corrado as an hero had a lot of faults but Alcina brought out the best in him and that’s what really made this story so good.

My romantic heart couldn’t get enough of them together. Also, the Drama was intense, talk about family drama but in a mafia way filled with guns and bloodshed. One thing I love about Mafia books is the drama , it’s mostly between families or inside a “famiglia” it makes the book whole and this book had good drama.

The supporting characters were just as good and well rounded as the Main characters. I really didn’t find any of them lacking. Their personalities certainly made this book fun ( I’m looking at you Adriano). The plot was so well structured, there certainly weren’t any loop holes in there.

Bella Di Corte deserves a round of applause. I’ll certainly be reading this book again ( after I’ve read the second one that is) and I just can’t wait for what she has next for us. Thank you for joining me and I hope you enjoyed my review of the book.

P.s: This book has inspired me to write my top ten mafia romance book list. What do you guys think about that?

My Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

About The Author

Bella Di Corte has been writing romance for seven years, even longer if you count the stories in her head that were never written down, but she didn’t realize how much she enjoyed writing alphas until recently. Tough guys who walk the line between irredeemable and savable, and the strong women who force them to feel, inspire her to keep putting words to the page.

Apart from writing, Bella loves to spend time with her husband, daughter, and family. She also loves to read, listen to music, cook meals that were passed down to her, and take photographs. She mostly takes pictures of her family (when they let her) and her three crazy dogs.

Bella grew up in New Orleans, a place she considers a creative playground.

She loves to connect with readers, so don’t hesitate to email her at belladicorte@gmail.com if you’d like to reach out. She’s also on Facebook & Instagram (where she attempts to show off the previously mentioned photos).
